 | New LAAS Graduate Program!
NEW LAND AND ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCE GRADUATE PROGRAM
The Department of Soil, Water, and Climate is very pleased to announce that the University of Minnesota Board of Regents has approved the proposal for the new Land & Atmospheric Science Graduate Program at their meeting on Wednesday, 8 July, 2009. The new graduate program is now official and will accept its first class this Fall semester.
This new graduate program represents the culmination of more than a year of planning, discussions, meetings, retreats, and proposal writing and editing by a significant proportion of the faculty, students, and staff in the Department of Soil, Water and Climate.
Students currently in the Soil Science Graduate Program may choose to transfer into the LAAS program or may opt to continue their degree programs in Soil Science under the terms of the original program. Both graduate programs will run concurrently until the last Soil Science graduate student has completed their program.
