2015 Region V Soil Judging Contest
This year's Region V Collegiate Soil Judging Contest will be hosted by the University of Minnesota's Department of Soil, Water and Climate out of Grand Rapids, MN. 8 teams from around the region and over 80 students and coaches are expected to converge on Grand Rapids on Sunday, September 20th. Students will have an opportunity to explore the diverse soils and landscapes of the Grand Rapids area on practice days through Wednesday, September 23rd. Contest day will be September 24th. The 2015 contest will be organized with the support of a number of partners, including the US Forest Service, USDA-NRCS, MAPSS Volunteers, and University of Minnesota Extension personnel. Additional volunteers may be needed as pit monitors the day of the contest (September 24th) - if you are interested, please contact Dr. Nic Jelinski (firstname.lastname@example.org), who is the primary contest organizer.
