I am currently looking at different rates of granular urea as well as different treatments of slow release forms of nitrogen on irrigated sandy soils in corn in Minnesota. I am seeking to understand if there is any way to improve the best management practices for urea application on sandy soils as well as if slow release nitrogen products have any potential to help control nitrate leaching, while maintaining comparable yields to granular urea.
