I was raised in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin and attended University of Wisconsin-Madison for my undergraduate in Agronomy. In addition to agronomy and environmental science, I am passionate about space research and satellite imagery for earth observation.
My research focuses on developing precision nitrogen management strategies for corn cropping systems using field measurements combined with ground and aerial remote sensing tools. In collaboration with several Minnesota farms, we will be collecting remote sensing data using active canopy sensors alongside aerial images from satellites, airplanes, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to study corn nitrogen status during the growing season. My overall research objective is to assist in developing in-season strategies for prescribing nitrogen using integrated precision agriculture practices.
