I grew up working on our family dairy farm in Northern Utah. I spent my time milking cows and taking care of the younger calves. In the summer, I helped plant, irrigate, and harvest alfalfa, corn, barley, and oats. I am working towards a career where I can help farmers grow the food we need to support a growing population in a sustainable manner.

Currently, I am working on a regional nitrogen management project with research plots in eight Midwestern states. We are looking at how single and split nitrogen applications affect the amount of nitrogen in the soil and plant throughout the season. Research areas of interest to me are: soil nutrient management, plant nutrition, cropping systems management, and international agricultural development.
