Introduction
I am originally from Minnesota but spent some time away in my early twenties before returning to finish my bachelor's degree at the University of Minnesota in Environmental Science. Specifically, I am interested in expanding knowledge of permafrost-affected soils in the Arctic and their future under a changing climate.
Research
My current research focuses on permafrost dynamics and changes due to cyclical fire events across landscapes. My overall research objectives aim to better understand the connections between carbon stock partitioning, permafrost dynamics, cryoturbation, and fire regimes in permafrost-affected soils. Research could potentially lead to improved modeling and prediction of future scenarios under environmental change.
